Pomeranians are generally fragile little things that need to be carefully looked after. Any Pomeranian owner should possess some knowledge on how to care for a Pomeranian's coat, teeth, and keep the dog fit. In this a piece of advice from a breeder is quite indispensable.
The Pomeranian is a tiny dog often referred to as "a fluffy ball." The breed has undercoat which protects a Pomeranian puppy from cold and excessive heat. This does not mean, however, that a puppy can be placed outdoors. Pomeranians are very sociable dogs, and are recommended for apartment living.

Since the Pomeranian's coat is double it takes quite an effort to look after it properly. A common mistake made by Pomeranian owners is occasional, insufficient brushing. This important procedure is not taken seriously sometimes. It is only outer hairs that are put to order, producing an impression of a well done job. In fact, the Pomeranian's coat tends to mat, and the first signs of matting are not easily noticeable.
Consistent brushing and washing are clues to avoiding such problems. It is recommended to thoroughly brush a dog twice a week. If you are preparing your Pomeranian puppy for a career of a show dog, you are supposed to brush it more frequently. By doing this you will profit twice. Not only the puppy's coat will look brilliant, but also grooming procedures will not cause your dog much discomfort in the future.

Pomeranian puppies require the same stages of dental care like all the other breeds of dog. Dental health depends strongly on foods and general condition of a puppy. Excessive tartar should be removed to avoid bad small, and gum problems. Note, that Pomeranian puppies often retain their primary teeth, which disturbs the process of permanent teeth's development.

Though the Pomeranian is a Toy breed, it does need obedience training. Bad manners, like weeds require being tackled at the very beginning. To better cope with the task try to learn more about the breed's personality, and get advice from experienced breeders.
Pomeranians are capable of performing various tricks, and are said to be rather willing to please their owner. However, do not overdo with training sessions. Specialists do not recommend making a Pomeranian jump a lot, since it can lead to injuries. Indeed, abrupt movements, and jumps from high heights are disastrous for Pomeranians.

Pomeranians - Pomeranians are Toy dogs, whose main function is a companion, or a watchdog. The breed is said to be very active but rarely suffers from hyperactivity. It is suited perfectly well for an apartment, and is generally good with other small breeds, and cats.
Pomeranians have a compactly build body. A short neck proudly carries a slightly rounded head with a short, fox-like muzzle. Ears are small, and medium sized almond eyes give an expression of alertness. The nose is black, or self-colored.
Pomeranians Breeders - Pomeranians are believed to have descended from ancient Spitz-type dogs. There is evidence that the Pomeranian's ancestors existed in Egypt, since their drawings were found in ancient tombs.
However, conventional opinions state that Northern regions, perhaps, Siberia, were the first homes for those hardy, weather-resistant dogs. Their physical qualities were successfully used in pulling sleighs, and warning about danger.
Pomeranians - Pomeranians had many other names in the past. Their cousins, the Samoyed, Spitz and Norwegian Elkhound, all closely resemble the Pomeranian as he appeared a scant 70 years ago.
Pomeranians derive their name from Pomerania, an old German province, now an area between eastern Germany and western Poland. The breed was developed from a Spitz breeding line. The Pomeranian is the smallest member of the Spitz line. Originally, Pomeranians were called Northern Group Type Dogs, or Spitz Type Dogs. Pictures of Pomeranians were found on the vases and other pieces, dating back to as early as 400 BC.
